Live too far to get there but I sent them some cash. I'm sure a counter support group will be well funded if this grows any legs.

How was the turnout?

There is apparently a fund set up at TD Bank to help pay the legal bills, does anyone have details on this?

Good turnout. Couldn't stay too long with the kids in tow. They blocked off the street in front of the courthouse.

The people who would support him generally have jobs they need to be at.

I am on the fence about this. I am from the states and have a kabin in the kootenai national forest in Montana. I am at risk by an introutor stealing from me but I do not know if I could auctually shoot to kill someone for a few thousand dollars and bare to live with that for the rest of my life.
What he did is not rite but if you kill someone you got to live with it.
Just sayin.

I think that you are confusing this case with the one in a Saskatchewan where a farmer was acquitted of second degree murder for shooting and killing a thief. This fella never killed anyone but one of the thieves had a minor gunshot wound on his arm.

Rural landowners dealing with constant thefts should stand in solidarity for this fella IMO.

Get the law changed then. Until then what's worth more to you. Your freedom or your stuff? You'll never see that law changed though because no resonable person would value a thing over a life.

So you don’t think people should be stealing? That’s great.

What is your answer to stopping the massive rural crime problem happening right now?

I'm saying if theives go looking to steal and someone snaps and hurts or kills a person, the law should not come down on the property owner for protecting what he worked for. Actually everything I own is worth more than a theives life, you do know what a thief is right?

My freedom and everything I have accumulated over a lifetime of hard work is what is important to me.

I don’t give two ***** about some POS that is trying to take that away from me. Sorry but that won’t change.

I know where I stand if you come on my property and try and take what is mine. Don’t need to say more.

I know what you're saying. I don't agree. Neither do most reasonable people. The moment you say its ok to kill someone with no other evidence other than your word they were stealing something you open up a whole other can of worms. If you can't see the problem with a law like this and the potential for abuse then I can't help you. But then again we've been through all this before.

And that's why theft is so high, because the criminals know the laws are behind them because people like you have soft spots for them, I have no idea why anyone would care about a criminal.

I know the laws come down on people for protecting their stuff, but I sure don't condem them for whatever action they take
