Sure, there are examples of successful private campgrounds and such (some bad ones too but that's an aside really - details stuff) and that is one option for "delisted parks."
I'm not so much concerned about that option as I am to the others that would be available, which would negatively effect Alberta streams and lakes.
There also is the fact that our parks are currently at peak capacity and this might be the new normal in the (post)Covid-19 world. If that is so, then we need all of our parks and in fact, we need more. I don't want to have to travel half-a-day or more just to escape the crowds.
That's just me, there is everyone else (hikers, climbers, bikers, campers, off-roaders, bird watchers, and paddlers, as well as hunters and fishermen) to consider also. If it's about the revenue, then they should say so and provide some economic details because I call bullsh*t on this being worthwhile for the public account. Some private individuals or corporations might benefit and that's a whole other kettle of fish.
There's no need to make this a political thing either. We're picking up some bad habits from the idiots to our south.
