Default covering a youths fee for the trapping course

I recall reading about a program or something that covered a kids $400 fee for the trapping course. Is this program still around? I know a 12 year old kid that wants to do the course and will probably trap until he's dead. He always shots and skins/tans his own squirrels.

FWIW, I am not familiar with this program but our local, will put up 50% to an active members family member. It helps..yeah...$400 is pretty steep.

There is a youth trappers camp. Contact the ATA. I hear ist very affordable for youths. I don't have a bunch of knowledge on this.
