Default CVR June 13th

Was at CVR today from noon till 4pm, lots of action after 2pm about dozen pike and couple of walleye, lots of followers and shy biters. Unweighted purple leech(body with polar chenille and a weedguard) was by far the best streamer i had on offer and they were going nuts after it. Casting over weeds and stripping line with short pauses provoked some voracious attacks. Southern wind helped with casting, 10 footer sure makes your arm like Popeye's My first pike was the biggest at around 8 pounds, the rest were in 5lb class. Pods of big suckers and minnows in shallows , was interesting to watch minnows following my leech.

Sorry but I have no pictures to show, it was awkward to handle fish and camera at the same time so i didn't bother.

My first real workout in pike fly fishing, hopefully i get some more days like today. Got to bring a sink tip next time for those walleye.

Cheers!
