4hp Johnson sea horse help.

I am unable to locate where the recoil spring attaches to the keeper next to the motor not the pully! any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go here and you'll find an itemized parts break down with diagrams. You will need to know the year. Eg. a J4r75 would be a 1975. Hope this helps. I really don't understand your question completely but I have serviced a few of the 4HP recoils. Rick.
