Default medicine lake

Thinking of going out camping at Medicine Lake north of Rocky Mountain House. Was just looking at the regulations, am I reading them right as in I can use bait as long as it is not live? I don't want to get in trouble with F&W so any help ahead of time would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You can use smelts for sure, though it may not help you out a whole lot. Mainly alot of hammer handles in there, and perch as well, but I couldn't find any this past winter, and I searched that lake over pretty good, twice. Nice little lake to go camping at though...

Hunter trav is correct, can use smelts, worms, powerbait etc. Does have a lot of hammerhandles although I have caught a few big pike there. Never caught a perch but I didnt target them.

Had great luck last year with spinners and top water poppers.

When are you going? Im thinking of camping there next week myself. Lots of smaller pike, but I did see a Moby last year when we had the kids gathering.

Not to sound dumb but I have seen the term hammerhandles a few times on here, not entirely sure what it refers to.

hammerhandles are what a lot of people call smaller pike. I am hoping to grab a site Monday early afternoon myself.
