Default Trout near Calgary??

Hi I'm a fly fisherman from Lethbridge up here going to school in Calgary, need to go somewhere and get some good trout. Planned my school so I could fish the bow but that obviously isn't going very well.
If you have any suggestions it would be appreciated.

Not a ton near Calgary until runoff is finished, but the Bow, the Elbow, the Highwood, the Sheep...all very fishable streams. Apart from stocked children's ponds, there is not much still-water within an hour of town, though.

Thanks. Are you hooking anything on the bow?? Is there some good holes or just swinging big streamers??

Fishing right now is not good for sure. Hang tough until runoff is done and there are tons of runs and pools. Streamers are good as well as nymphs and dry's later in the summer.

Let me know when you're free. I can take you out and show you a spot or two. I will send you a link with some info later tonight

Sources tell me the Bow is fishable... or should I say the trout are catchable at this time with a flyrod

Banks are still pretty murky, but the Bow is very fishable....I have seen plenty of fish out of there in the past couple of weeks....mostly whitefish, bulls, and browns, but a couple of 'bows, too.

Are they chasing streamers or just kinda hitting random things? Black and golden stones, or smaller?

they always chase streamers haha. the browns should be stacked up in the banks right now so no need to cast cross current for the most part
