Default Is my Marcum LX5 broken?

Hello all, I have been having an issue with my LX5 flasher, the screen sways. I have had my LX5 in the water for the past 30 mins, the red ground bar keeps swaying about .5 - 1' . Right now I have the zoom on and my red bar goes between 9 - 9.5 ' when it is supposed to be directly at 10.

I hope I explained this properly. My screen literally jumps 1 or more feet non stop. If its not broken, is there something out of Alignment that I can fix??

Crappy deal the answer is yes I just returned my lx5 I bought from cabelas in January for the same issue.
First off its a motor/timing issue that was a problem back a few years ago but has been "fixed" on the new units....just not yours or mine lol.

When did you buy your unit and from where? Cabelas has a 60 day return policy on electronics so that's the route I went and would be the route I suggest to you if possible. Marcum will warranty the work but you have to ship it to the states and then fix it and mail it back.

The only LX5 in Canada I could find was one from the fishin hole Calgary that I had ordered in and picked up Monday so I'm sorry to say you might be out of luck this year.

My suggestion would be if you bought it recently check with the store on there return policy and use the unit as is until you have to return it.
Or use the unit until the season is over and send it to marcum.

Thanks Mike, I bought my LX5 in December from Bass Pro Shops, however I paid the extra $150 for the 3 year warranty. I knew something would go wrong, I can pick up the first power drill your Grandpa ever used and it will do the job, yet a piece of Electronics today can't last a few months without troubles.

I appreciate you getting back to me and I will bring it back to BPS tomorrow!

Ya, BPS is real good. I bought a Camera, had problems, brought it back and the guy didn't even open the box, just gave me credit and I got the Marcum. I was suprised.

Bought the wrong pots from CT 3 days ago, brought them back the next day and the CS girl takes all the pots out, inspects them then tells me that she can't take them back for Sanitary reasons. Told me I washed them and used them. Pizzed me right off.
