The last day of my second trip to South Africa. It was part of slightly epic 25 minute 3 animal smackdown.
We knew where this guy was. We found him, killed him and got the truck over to get him in so that we could get to a different spot quickly before last light. After loading him we were just getting in the truck and a Red Hartebeest came off the side of the hill. I am not one to kick a gift horse in the mouth so I shot him where he stood. He was an old warrior with a broken horn and a pile of scars. He was all on his own.
After that shot, a herd of Impala busted out of a patch of acacia trees. My buddy put a quick stalk on one and was able to kill a ram. It was kind of surreal.

My favorite picture is of my father with a bear he killed in 1954 on a moose hunt. My father is the younger guy.

My son's first whitetail buck.
Wife's first animal ever and the biggest cow moose I've ever seen in thirty years in the bush. Best part of this thread is reminiscing over all the great times.

My favorite? That's easy, I've posted before but my middle child, 3rd daughter, with her first buck that she dropped clean with one through the heart at 268 ranged....

Not so much my favorite hunting picture but moreso a pic of my favorite hunting spot. 120 yards to across the creek. Best bush and valley funnel in the whole area. Consistantly.
And just a couple of the deer that were taken there. All were taken within 5 yards of each other, but in different years.

my daughter and i were out scouting for deer and we seen a fox fun into a culvert at a field approach. all i had was a bow but had to try.
she went to one end and wiggled her foot at 1 end, the fox came running out the other end and i whacked it on the run

Lots of great pictures posted. Here's one of my favourites. The end of a multi-year search.

Some tongue and rope
Well it doesn't follow the Rules on natural presentation, or tongue but it is my favorite set of photos because it was my first Bow harvest. And my dad came off a 12hr night shift to help me pull him out of 2km of beaver cut, where I sat on the front of the trike and at one point was catapulted backwards over the entire moose and dad landed in the antlers. Not a scratch on us and we laugh about it still today. had to use the truck to pull the moose and the trike up the last hill before we could hoist it into my dakota.

image.jpg I had the opportunity to guide a couple seasons for couse deer in Sonora Mexico in the late 90's . Most underrated quarry on the planet in my opinion . Truly some memorable hunts down there.
