I am thinking about fishing wabasca and i was wondering which lake was the best, any other good lakes nearby? i will need a good boat launch that will handle a 18 1/2 ft boat. Thanks in advance.

I always fished North Wabasca Lake, the south lake used to get fished early in the spring but hardly got any pressure the rest of the year. I looked at a depth chart once that showed South Wabasca Lake to be pretty shallow with very few features. Not sure how acurate it was but I hope this helps. Used to fish there quite often, after having worked there for a few years it takes an awfull lot of money to get me to go anywhere near Wabasca.

Wabasca and Demerais are wonderful settlements showing the success of our great federal indian affairs department. Wabasca is a secret little walleye mecca similar to Fortress Lake in the Rocky Mountains. If you are a true Walleye fisherman you have to visit Wabasca. Wabasca is like a little Banff in the middle of nowhere created in the same manner as all federal settlements.
