Default out foxin a fox

hello outdoorsmen, i live on a small acerage and we have ten chickens that are like pets for me and the kids. We also however have a local fox that I have seen sniffing around the coup/run. We are technically in town limits so I can't shoot the fox nor do I want to he was there before we were and so far has been nice to watch and has caused no trouble. I am looking for suggestion on how to deter him to not eat my birds. The coup is locked up at night and is very secure and the run is completely enclosed with stucco wire with 2" holes but he still makes me nervous. All suggestions welcome.

thanks

as long as he cant dig under the wire you should be ok. it should extend a couple feet under the ground and inside the pen. you could try a slingshot or pellet gun that will keep it away, until you are asleep anyways got a family in my yard too, at least until I get my rabbits, then that might change.

Seeings how this is in the fishing section I recomend tying a len thompson with at least 20 lb test to your chickens......if the fox tries anything there is a good chance of catching him.

Anchor the line to something solid.

Good answer!

You could also try throwing some 2-3 oz fishing weights at the fox also from a slingshot.

Bait a big treble with one of the chickens?? Use a halibut rod and 50lb test, they put up one hell of a fight.
