Going fishing

Hey everyone i was just hoping that someone could point me in the right direction, on saturday the 25th i am going fishing but i dont know where, im a spurr of the moment type of guy. If you could help me out i would appreciate it

anything with a good fight, ill be also bringing a friend who has never really fished before so it would be nice if he could catch something. My guess would probably be pike since they are not too picky at what they eat

I myself have fished for a few years regularly so i like the challenge but, if there is a place that would also be easy for him that would be great also

How far? 1 or two hours? How big? You know what, go for Pike and Walleye (ugh) and Goldeye, at the same time,,, I'll send you a spot tomorrow. Do you flyfish? Goldeye are by far the funnest fish on a fly for a newbie.

Yes i can flyfish but my friend cant lol, ill take my friend to the place you recomend anyway i think he would be interested how to flyfish. Like i said im more into taking my friend to have a good time im not too concerned on how far and how big.

but seriously, i'll send you the spot, lures for both fly and regular fishing and so forth,,, but with all this rain it could be quite slippery so you may want to bring rubbers and such

Try Crawling Valley Reservoir. I was there in my pontoon boat on Saturday & boated 6 fish, lost 5 others all on flies in less than 2&1/2 hrs at which time 30mph winds literally blew me off the lake! Just find a nice developing weedbed in @ 10-13 fow & work it THOROUGHLY since most of the pike (& some walleyes) are relating to these beds right now. Your buddy can cast spoons or Husky jerks, floating Raps, etc. & do just as well probably. Best part is only a little over 1hr from Calgary.
