Default Firewood cutting permit ( Calgary Region)

Hi there,

Has anyone on here ever bought the firewood cutting permit for the Calgary Region? Just wondering if the areas in which you are allowed to cut wood is easy to find and access? Any advice, other then wait until the snow is gone....

Thanks in advance.

Dave.

I have. Just go on the permit site. There is a map. Just pull over in those areas and cut dead wood. That’s all I did. Pretty easy. I’ll go out with ya if you want.

We go a couple times a year as we have many fires in our back yard fireplace and for camping. Just go to this website and purchase a permit for the area you want to and go and cut your dead fall.
We usually head up in behind the Sundre area just west of Burnstick. Lots of wood not hard to get out of there.

Make sure you dont cut trees in a PRA. They are Parks and you could be fined. Know where you are and whats near. Some of these PRA have a large buffer zone around them. No cutting of trees
