...Shame on you, you should have waited one more election and you would have been crowned the Kahuna tonight. You are officially nobody now.

Brian will be a great leader of opposition up against the dirty socialists. I will continue to support the WR moving forward.
I really wonder why I bust my azz 12 hrs a day, worry about how I will get the purple idiot his tax money, pay the mortgage and all the other bills I MUST pay every single god dang month?

I should have just run as the NDP candidate in Calgary Bow.....I would be on easy street for the next 4 years...lots of time and funds to hunt and fish and drink....with the odd commute up to Edmonton for some "work" (plus well on my way to a nice pension) ++++

If there are any nice grandmas out there that would like to adopt a real nice, hard working 50+ guy, please send me a PM.....

The good news is the lack of jobs will send most of the pseudo-albertans and recent imports that voted the Orange in back to where they came from.

The problem is 21 year old MLA's can royally screw a lot up in a short period of time. Bermuda Shorts Parties at the Leg every spring will be epic though.

Ed was left and we hated him. Red Queen was even further left and well....
Prentice was a blue Liberal and now we have the Commie Orange.

Here comes sales taxes, inflation, million dollar publicly funded art exhibits that look like frat kids got hammered at Benjamin Moore....he'll ya. Good times.

Nope just sick of misinformation and bashing from the right side. I am under no expectation that the NDP are the savior of all saviours and I don't think many are. A real shakeup was long overdue and NDP has as much chance as any of affecting some positive change if the population get behind them. Of course positive will depend on your angle. Will there be some setbacks. Almost a certainty. As it would have been with Jean or Prentice or anyone else. There is no utopia. Make the most of what we are given and stop with the speculation. If it happens and proves to be terrible (not because people have done everything to undermine success) then bash away.

Just curious with the anti-oil comments. Just about all of Northern Alberta went NDP, huge oil companies and workers in that area, many of them maybe not residents, but many of them are?

Definitely somewhat surprising there wasn't more of an urban/rural split with NDP/WR

Newsflash. Jobs are already in the tank and housing is widely accepted to be at bubble levels and likely to flatline or decline specially in AB. In AB listings are already up. But of course any RE or jobs data going forward is going to be attributed to the NDP regardless of policy. This is set up for another perfect misperception scenario.

Only the weak and thin skinned, turn and run. Surely, we are made of better stuff than that!

When confronted with great adversity, the best action is to stand strong, hold ground, and prepare for a *&^%$# good fight!

Uh. Speculation. Ok.

So old proverb, those who fail to recognize history often break their heel on it.

We have lots of history where the NDP have held power in a province. Which one would you like to bring forward as an example of prosperity? Actually, please tell me which one is it you recognize as having done anything but get mired debt while only growing public sector employment with out any relative growth in any industry? Exports? Have they ever reduced tax burden from the working man?
I've read the reports, papers, watched family live under it.

How many generations do you have in this province Elk?

Lots of questions you don't have answers for except "hope". Wasn't that Obama's slogan........

You can sit down now and let time pass and your "hope" and let the deed shaw.....

This is AB. Everything is different. She doesn't strike me a dumb and anyone with half a brain knows typical NDP BS will not fly in AB. And you don't get to where she is shooting for a one term presence. So I'm thinking she is going to tread lightly. Whether she is perceived as good or not and successful or not depends largely on perspective though. If you like the current club and religious moral bias etc then this is likely viewed as a terrible day. I have to wonder how many people that are threatening to move are of a Mormon faith or the like. They must be freaking at this change. Do I expect her to make wine from water...NO. Just a good shakeup to the club and some support of neglected social areas. Mental health for one. Peace

I work in oil and not have one direct family member working for any gov't agency. Just tired of far right uneducated vitriol. Balance is important in a democracy. 44 yrs with the same party is a frickin' joke and recipe for imbalance. I am willing to share some of my paycheck to ensure Canada remains what it is. Social service are grossly undervalued by the right...until they need them. Peace

Just got off the phone with a guy I know in Calgary at one of the oil companies. He said it's too early to panic, but it just got a lot harder to get any investment in the province now.

On one hand I hope they can get themselves organised enough to take over whatever mess the NDP leaves us in. On the other hand I'm pretty ****ed off at them for throwing away the last two elections... if only there was enough privacy at the voting station to wipe my ass with the ballot.
Until the Wildrose puts a face in there that has experience and can be trusted it will be a continued exercise in frustration. I voted WR but I have to say the leader looks clueless.

I'm not going to pass judgement on our new Government hours after being elected!!

....but I suspect the paper shredders will be going 24/7 starting tomorrow morning......cause just maybe someone might be wanting to know why we don't have at least a trillion in our savings account.

My thoughts as well.

Danielle said one of the reasons she crossed the floor was the vote splitting in the bye elections and fear of the left wing coming up the middle. Well tonite validates her concern.

It is time, to unite the right in Alberta just like they did federally.
