Default Twenty Five Incher

iced a few rainbows tonight. couple at eighteen and another one at twenty. also one decent one, maybe the biggest through the ice for me. never measured that eyelet on the rod yet, it went twenty-five inches. sorry for the poor quality picture, battery failure on the good camera and had to resort to the blackberry.

Beauty fish. Really lives up to its name.

I'd guess 4-5.5lbs no more, no less.

Wish I could find some in the bow like that.

thanks all.

the fish was not weighed, quickly held beside my rod for a length reference, up for a photo and back into the hole for recovery before swimming home. this fish fought hard and on the gear I was using was a ton of fun to catch. i bet the fight was nearing ten minutes with several good runs before the fish was tired enough for me to even attempt to bring its head into the hole. all the rainbows landed last night were on the same minnow imitation up in shallow water, smaller fish came in but only the bigger ones committed. the glide-lite sled is ok. maiden voyages a couple times this weekend. it ensures you’ve always got something to sit on with your other rods at hand while hopping holes at the very least. i will be modifying it at some point, as i’d like to get the auger on it somehow for first and last ice seasons.

Was this BC or AB?

I know they are stocking a lot of Gerrards on the west slope, just about anywhere they can.
