Default Geese?

Anyone seem to notice if geese are on the move yet or not? The spot I'm supposed to go up to next weekend, I've been told there aren't many birds left. Seems kinda early doesn't it? What are people seeing out there? I'm going to be in 502

Birds move in "waves",,,, early season molt migrant canadas seem to have moved through parkland already so I would suspect they have already passed through the forest fringe zones. Next wave of canadas will be the nesters from the boreal and artic regions. If they have a good hatch they could be a bit later than normal to show up in numbers.

Specs appear to flying further south and east this year before staging. I suspect the abundance of staging water this year has also spread the birds around to new areas as well.

Snows don't usually peak until October.

Lots around the town of Camrose, but just east of here on a half section of Peas, they are not that plentiful. The guys tell me the big Northern flocks haven't started yet. I hope they are right.

Saw a decent amount of Canada's near Strathmore yesterday, one good size flight of Spec's and a small flight of Snow's too.

There are patches of them around High River/Aldersyde. Flocks of between 10 and 40.

Lots west of Olds and Bowden, thinking they're headed south.
