That didn't take long, Sekera signs with Dallas.

Yup and they got Perry and Pavelski too.

I figured Dallas was an underrated playoff team last year. This year could be the year.

I agree with you. Must be nice to have cap room and not be handcuffed by bonehead contracts.
So our goaltending tandem is Smith and Koskinen this year. This just reiterates my thoughts that we won’t see the playoffs for 2-3 seasons.

Bwahahaha ok that Hung The Moon comment was good, literally made me LOL. Not sure what Flames fans you deal with but none around these forums.

We knew we were not going to be signing a block buster deal today. I am happy with the folks they let go (especially Sekera) and Granlund might be a very good depth pick-up and boost the 2nd powerplay unit. I don't mind the Smith trade and if the Oilers are serious that Koskinen is the 1a with Smith being the 1b, then it would have been fairly difficult to find a better back-up. At the very least the Oilers don't need to face Smith as an opponent and that ia a good thing because his numbers against Oilers are crazy.

I would love to see them go after Dzingel.

3rd line center

1st line McDavid, Kassian, ?
2nd Draisaitl, Nuge, Chaisson
3rd Dzingle, Granlund, Gagner
4th Lucic, JJ, Brodziak

I think the 1st line can provide great opportunities for the young speedy players. 2nd line should score as much as the 1st line. 3rd line with some experience, defensive game, and speed. 4th big and mean.

I don't believe left vs right wing is as important as right vs left defense.

As much as I love kass, he should never be anyone’s first liner.
What a predicament we are in....

Very quiet on this thread about the Looch trade,,blowing up on the SHAMES thread... 2 things...I think Neal has an upside...Ken Holland did an excellent acquisition.. Neal is NO dum-dum and he is re-united with his Coach, that he called HIS Dad

Its like Christmas in July watching them meltdown. First they sign first shot Talbot, then they trade for Looch. Now if they’d only take 98!

I did hear something about that with Bennett. Similar draft positions and both guys not living up to expectations. Probably nothing more than a thought. Don't think we'll see another trade with the Flames for a while.

All of a sudden, Lucic looks like Tim Hunter.
