What's your budget? The smaller portable units are the easiest to install as they have their own power supply, but they typically use a suction cup to stick on the transom which doesn't stay on reliably when the boat moves at any speed. That said, Canadian Tire has some killer deals on portable Humminbirds that have GPS capabilities. Regular $289 and I've seen them for $89 with the "In-Store Clearance".
If you want something with a fixed transducer on the transom of your boat you would need to decide on a budget and understand that installation for them all will be about the same. Power draw will be less for the smaller units with less bells and whistles, but you still need an external power source, a mounting bracket and to run the cable to the transom for the transducer.
Hope that helps.
