Default turtle lake area open water help needed

I have a weekend planned to fish turtle lake this weekend (may long) and I have just received word that the ice hasn't even broken up yet. Anyone up that way know of any open water? Loon lake? Jackfish, brightsand etc.

Any info is appreciated.

I do not think you will find totally open water this weekend on any of the large Saskatchewan lakes. I was at Turtle Lake about a week ago and the ice was barely out from the shore. I observed the same at Loon Lake last Sunday.

Jackfish and Murray typically open up sooner than Turtle which is usually the last.

I would say it would be a day by day thing. A friend was at Loon on Monday and said some of the water bodies were open, some weren't. I will try and keep my ears open, let you know what I find out.

I honestly can't think of any lakes in the area that will be ice free this weekend in the meadow lake area even the small trout lakes are still mostly iced up as of today.
