Default UPDATE - Sylvan Lake Ice - May 15th - Pics

Got in 18 this morning, seen some open water on the lake the local Fish Eagle had a nice Whitefish for lunch on my hydro pole, didn't get a pic, but took these this afternoon.

My prediction .... it will still snow here on the May Long, but the ice will be out on or before .... "May 17th."

Will post an update when it happens with a few more pic's!

Enjoy ....

I wonder if the pallets were left from firewood or they are trying to create structure for fish in that spot?

Same thing at Ghost res. by Cochrane. 1 single ice shack left out on the ice.

Great post and pics. A couple of good days of wind and that ice will be gone.

The junk on left the ice is very saddening.

Those pallets where the base of someone's portable, they should of been removed with the guy's shed. I understood the Town or the Village of Norglenwold was going to retrieve left overs after March 31, guess that didn't happen. Boaters beware ....

Have a close look at pic # 9 with the Red Barn in the background, that's a patch of open water in the middle of the lake, depending on the weather over the next week, it won't be long!

Just got home from golf ..... the lake is still white, we need some wind & rain to get that ice to sink !

Will update with a few more pic's when that happens.

Awesome update thanks for sharing. It really sucks when other people can't clean up their mess after fishing geez. Maybe one year they might have to have some to baby sit them.
