Nakamun report dec 4
Figured it's been long enough since the 2013 winter kill, I should go out and see if the perch came back.
Fished the west end, walked out past the island and worked my way back. 3 inches of crusty frozen snow, 10 inches of good ice, clear water. Fished everywhere from 3-20 FOW, in spots and using presentations that have always been productive there. Had the home made jaw jacker out as well just to increase my odds.
No perch, no pike. Lots of feed for em, backswimmers and shrimp in every hole I drilled. One tiny silver minnow attacking a micro jig that was bigger that him, but it was definitely not a perch fry. Talked to another angler that had the same results, we both have heard about the odd pike being caught but things have not bounced back the way they used to. Given the early ice up this year, I think it's over for a while, maybe permanently.
