Default Rainy Ridge Lake - West Castle Area

Any chance anyone might have GPS coordinates or a detailed description of where the trailhead is to this lake? I know the general area, but I've heard that if you start out on the wrong trail things go rather badly quickly. I've wanted to try for some golden trout for a while and this is one of the lakes that I would like to get to before my knees won't take me anymore.

Thanks for that info honda450. If I recall from previous posts, you've been up there before. How did you find the hike, and do you recall how long it took you? I've heard that the proper trailhead is hard to find and that you need to ford the river?

Nope never been there but my son and nephew went up there this summer. They had the GPS with the co-ords quaded up as far as they could go and set out on foot. Said it took em 4 hours to get in and they are like a couple of mountain goats. They were packing a shotgun and seen 2 grizz. They caught a few fish as well. I had intentions of going in but no way I could keep up to them. Check out that old post that I had in May sometime I think. I will one day make it in there. I hope. Good luck to ya. Here are some pics not mine though.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, it looks beautiful up there. I've spent quite a bit of time in that area and you're not exaggerating about the bears in the area.
