Default Chain lake suckers

Hi all was just wondering if u catch a sucker at chain lakes can u keep them? I was reading the regs and it states in stocked lakes u cannot keep any game fish exp trout but are suckers considered game fish? I would think they are not but if anyone knows I would like the info thanks for reading and keep catching.

suckers arent considered game fish and you may keep them. got a bunch in my freezer right now.

ive been wrong many times but here is how i understand the rules

there is only 4 lakes listed in ES1 allowing the use of baitfish and Chain is not one of them.....page 26

The collection of bait fish is not allowed in waters with bait bans or restrictions on the use of bait fish.....page 22

so with that in mind i think you can harvest them for human consumption only

o lord please drop this already theres suckers if u eat them idk what to say to u they would taste like mud .....

Id eat them out of Chain, I wont eat them out of the rivers. bet they taste a whole lot better than stocker trout from pothole lakes

I should add so I dont get flamed, I catch my suckers in thr South Saskatchewan river basin where baitfish are legal. And no I dont eat them out of there. I hear suckers are good canned or pickled. Probably would be good smoked too, but Im not much of a fish eater

When I was in northern Ontario bass fishing, we caught a pile of suckers the one day, and my buddy canned them all..

fairly tasty actually.. alot like pickled herring

ye see i only caught suckers out of wabamun and n.s.r so i wouldent eatum xD and idk ive heard that suckers taste like mud just like stockers xD
