Default Fenwick Elite Tech Ice Rod Length

Hello all, I figured I'd add to my ice arsenal this year and get a nicer rod. Looking at the elite tech in a medium, but I'm not sure what length to go for. I'm not really one for shelters so I'm thinking around 30"-36". Does that 6" really make a difference? The 42" is getting into open water territory

Hey! I have a 36" MH elite tech. I really like it, I would say it is the best rod i've seen for out of the tent. However even at 36" i feel it's a little long for the tent. I would highly recommend it if you are out of the shelter, i don't feel you need the extra length.

Default Nice rod

I use a 42 doe one of my outside lines and works quite well. Mostly use for pike and it has caught many and some nice size too. A little long for inside the tent but you could if you have the space. I have also used it for a summer rod when walking through the bush in some of the mountain streams too with an ultralight reel. Great for the small brookies.

The extra length would be nice for aggressive jigging, playing larger fish, and hole hopping without reeling in (in shallower water).

I have a couple for a few years now. I believe they are 32" or 34" but are ML. Great rods, I use for walleye and perch. Haven't tried a M rod. I fish lots in tent so don't want the long but outside the tent 36"-42" you'll be happy with the quality of the rods

I use a couple older Daiwa Tri Force MH for my heavier Lake Trout gear in 36"
