Default Best Walleye Rod

I have been using a few different rods this year for jigging for eyes some are alot nicer then others for sensitivity. In your experience what would be your favorite jigging rod?

St. Croix 5' 8" legend extreme. I got to try it side by side with the G Loomis. Both had great sensitivity but the St. Croix actually landed about 1 or 2% more fish. I attribute this to the fact that the St. Croix is stiffer than the G Loomis so the fish stay on better.

Either are great rods though.

At the end of the day a good fisherman with an Ugly stick will still out fish a poor fisherman with the most expensive rod so I say get what you can afford and go out and fish as there is no substitute for experience.

I have a medium weight - Fast Action Fenwick HMX that I really like. I will also be purchasing a Fenwick Walleye Pro Bait Caster here shortly.

Another vote for the St.Croix Legend Series.

The most sensitive rod I own. It can feel a fish sniffing the bait.

I have dozens and dozens of rods - many different brands from Shimano and Abu Garcia, to Loomis and Fenwick ..... St. Croix keeps me coming back when I need sensitivity in a rod.

Another note - run braided line to add to the sensitivity .... no stretch.

I haven't used the legend series at all, however I'm really enjoying my G loomis. I have a MAG-Light e6x and i really like it. I find the blank has enough backbone to set, while the tip is more sensitive than a typical medium light. I would expect the equivalent in a MAG-Light NRX to be a contender for best rod. Also love my St Croix though.

I use a Fenwick Elite Tech 5'9" medium, really nice rod at a decent price. I run it with 10 lb braid and the sensitivity is great.

Quantum PT tour rod 6.6 - best sensitivity I have ever had, along with great ergonomics.

Yes I have a couple fenwicks as well. I love the feel I get from them and the backbone to keep a fish on. Best bang for buck IMO as they aren't terribly expensive.

Agreed Fenwick best bang for $.

Walleye Class spin caster is what I run. Great Walleye rod. Not sure if they make that same rod still?

Have a HMX bait caster as my Pike rod and a HMX 6wt for one of my fly rods.
