Default A-Max bullets for .223

Looking for a reloading source for some A-Max bullets, 0.224 dia for a .223 Tikka T3.... in the 65 to 75 grain range....(Hornady web site is down right now so I can't provide a more specific bullet grain).. Anyway it seems these are easier to get on the US side of the border.

Anyone here able to suggest where I can buy some on the Canadian side?

Try Higginsons Powder; they have a lot of Hornaday bullets.

The AMax is discontinued and replaced by the ELD in most, if not all calibers. Including the .224. Higginsons still had some of the 75 AMaxs last time I checked. Great little bullet.

Call Flys ect they will be able to get you some bullets. I'd try the 75bthp

The 70/75 Bergers are nice bullets too. I used them for a long time on coyotes from a fast twist 223ai when I couldn't get the 75 amax.
Wholesale Sports had a ton of Bergers back in the day.

If the Tikka is an 8" twist, give the 75 ELD a whirl.

I'm having great success with Hornady's 68 BTHP Match... It's not poly-tipped, but it sure groups great on paper !

Waiting for the chance to try them out on the song-dogs.

Superior ballistics (.355 G1) to every other .223 bullet (of the same weight or less) available.

24.5 grains Varget @ 2.310 - 2.315" COAL, in a 1:9" twist barrel

YMMV
