Daughter and I discussed a business venture were we would create a piglet leasing program. We’d provide a pet piglet for a down payment, then some ongoing fee with optional buyout. No guarantee on future of returned animals.

The Pot belly pig turned out to be too hard to look after. Pork chops not so much. Who knew?

That's what I teach my kids... "Don't name your food!"

Incredigirl and I had a good laugh over this.

The only upsetting part was seeing the level of internet outrage... Yeesh. Some people are really disconnected with reality.

I was reminded of this video: Mitchell and Webb Vegetarian Dinner Party

I learned that from Guido very early in life.

He was a good farmer....

The gal you *were* dating. Now you're looking for someone with a sense of humour and who appreciates good food
Haha

Funny.. Because the part about "WERE" is exactly true as of today.....
It wasn't due to the pig. Well maybe? I did laugh a whole lot.

Default Times have changed

As a young boy on the farm, my job was to catch a hen, cut off its head. pick clean, bring it to mother for dinner. November i would watch father smack the two pigs i was feeding on the head with a sledge, drop it in a 45gal drum of boiling water shave, to smoke house. To snares, watch father neck break survivors, then watch mother skin on kitchen table. This was a typical way of community life. Sit next to my mother and father in church, have the minister home for dinner, haveing the two chicken I killed for dinner----Then off to sunday school-----Life really was good.

Had little kids too when I started raising my own.

I named em right of the Bat that uns Chops that uns Bacon that uns Ham Next years batch will be named the same. Nuff said.

Oh Man rendered down the leftover fat bits and fried some home grown taters in it Now thats living ...

Worst part is not having the proper set up for scalding my own. Funny how a processor can loose a quarters worth of hand raised pork.
