JR likely ment '08 guys. IIRC, the Alberta record lake trout is just shy of 53lbs. For sure there are much bigger ones out there, but I think the record was set in the '60s, so it has stood for a long time.
JR, congrats on the fish and the recognition. Was the award for the biggest one registered for the year? Was it a line class thing or what? I'd love to hear the story fi you have time to share it.
