Default Father's day Daughter and Dad fishing trip to Lac Ste. Anne June 15 2014

It was a beautiful day to be out on the lake. We were on the water about 4:30, did a few laps around farming island at high speed before we decided to hit the narrows for some walleye fishing. West side of farming island was pretty choppy and windy.

We anchored in 16 feet of water around 5:30. By the time we were all set up and ready to go we were catching the walleyes right left and centre. They all ranged between 20.00 to 22.00 inches. We were off the water at 7:45 ish and at the playground near the launch for 8:00. All catch and release.

Lily got to boat her first walleye (the one she caught last year I counted as the line snapped as it was at the boat). In total she caught 3, lost 2, I caught 8 lost 3. The First pic is her excitement when she realized she had her first fish on the line, with her rod. The Lily Special was very successful.

Default Kids are funny about fishing.

Kids are funny about fishing. Took my oldest son out to an east slope small stream where he caught a bunch of the most brilliantly colored Cutthroats I have ever seen. The fish were hooked, but he wasn't. Took my youngest son to a river where he only caught one fish, a Bull Trout, and he was hooked for life.

Thank you everyone!

It was an awesome fathers day! I love taking her out fishing and exploring.

It is important for me to pass along good memories and skills to her.

It looks like I have created a fishing partner for life and I look forward to the day she is outfishing and outcatching me!
