MALIGNE LAKE fishable from shore?

Hi, I'm going out to Jasper for the long weekend and was wondering if Maligne lake has any fishable shore fishing spots? Thanks in advance.

I have a friend who goes to maligne Lake every year and he says tons of fishing from shore and some shore spots are nice and deeper. also says that he sees people fish from the dock and you can see trout swimming all around the dock etc. let us know how you do! good luck

Not really. You can try, but it does not work that great. You have to hike down some distance to get to any deep water, and you are really limited as a lot of spots have big rocks off shore.

Just rent a boat, or bring one. Get out of Home Bay, go down about 1 mile and fish on the west side for steady action. The trout densities are not super, so you have to cover water, but if you do, you will get into some nice fish in a gorgeous place.
