Default Deer GUIDES wanted for November

I am looking for a couple of experienced hunters or guides who are looking to make some extra cash guiding deer hunters in November. You would be guiding in the Central Alberta area. This is a great opportunity to get into the outfitting industry. For more information if your interested please send me a PM or call me at 403-586-1616.

(mods I hope this is ok to post here)

A guide license is not a prerequisite.

No a PAL is not a requirement, just a guide license which is issued to you by an outfitter.

so...you can actually hire a guide(?)...who doesn't know the difference between an FAC and a PAL, issue him a guide license yourself, and send him out with a guy who has saved for a few years to pay for an Alberta White Tail hunt, as his "guide"????....really?????

I've seen posts on here from guys who didn't know the LGR was dead. Not a surprise when someone refers to PAL as an FAC. Happens here daily.

true....just don't know if it should come from your "guide"....that is not allowed to carry a rifle, or know the difference??...imagine he's up to snuff on the regs then eh???

well he did ask the question. It looks like he wants to be legal.

Obviously guides don't start out all knowing about everything any more than a patch worker gets to do his job without orientation.

your point wasnt missed by all. its actually a good point...especially if you are the guy paying for the hunt. sadly i know of that scene happening. felt sorry for the hunter. im sure full throttle would be more selective than that.

Thanks guys. It's amazing how many guys who have contacted me and don't know a thing about guiding or the outfitting industry. But then again when I started 14 years ago I didn't know what it took to be a guide or an outfitter either. A good people person and a successful hunter with knowledge of the animals they are hunting makes a great guide, all the rest can be learned, however I would hire a young gungho kid who is willing to learn before I would hire someone who tells me they have hunted for 20 years and "knows it all".

i think the people person comment is the biggest thing. taking good and proper care of the hunter and catering to what he wants is usually the most important thing.

Lol I share an account and that was my buddie. I've grown up around guides and taxidermists all my life. I'm up to snuff on regs. Can't wait to shoot a hog of a mule in 232!!

Some of the best times are when the tags are filled early and you got time to show them the country....Or when your client is a beautiful 23 year old female(is a tip considered payment?) 500$ aint bad

Still trying to find at least one guide who is familiar with the areas that we hunt. WMU 210,214,220,221,314. Thanks to all that have contacted me, and if your interested but have not guided before, give me a call and we can chat.

One of the best guides I know has a grade 2 education and can not read.

About 30K to hunt polar bear with him.....$5500 for musk-ox tho.

Still looking to hire. Thanks to all that have shown interest, the hardest thing is to get someone to commit to the time. I need a guide from November 1-16. Drop me a line if you are interested.
