We've done really good at the narrows north of Kinuso. Our ice shack is frozen in, so that's the weekend project.

There's also a ton of fish in Joussard, and more shacks out there than I can believe. Like a little city.

Come up for a visit.

come check out Red Sky Grove in Joussard at redskyalbertalimited.ca

Good to hear. Hows the travel onto the lake with a 4x4? I've heard that there is a ton of snow up north this. Are there well established trails out to the narrows and is the a road out at Joussard again this year?

Thanks for the info guys. Nice website.

There is a lot of snow, but it's melting fast. Spring fever is setting in finally.

The road at the narrows stops at the farmer's field, and I'm not sure that there's been any trucks out there in the last 3 weeks. I've got a lifted Blazer with 38" tires, and I'm pretty sure it'll do the job tomorrow.

Joussard has a couple good trails out, and the one from the marina out to the shacks is maintained by a Nodwell type rig with a plow, and they do it for donations-says a sign on a snowbank.

There is a lot of snow in the bush, above average runoff for the first time in at least five years. Whether or not it actually runs off is another thing...last fall we were wheelin' on dried muskegs that were bottomless 5 years ago with a quad. All the runoff may just soak into the earth and not fill the lake at all. Time'll tell..

Come out and do some shovelling in the drifts with me tomorrow? Should I put your name on a lakeview lot for ya?? >D

I'm in for the shovelling, but I'll have to take a rain check on the lot. One is more than enough for me.

I think I'll give Shaw's point a go first and maybe try Spruce on the way home. Good luck out there. If you see a blue & silver chevy 1/2 ton come say hello.

Penner??

Where were you today?? There was spooning to be done, as my big truck with big tires made it about 40 feet past the end of the road. We shoveled a path backwards and jsut gave up and took the sled out instead.

We've hired a guy that my Pa-in-law used to work with to drag the shack off for us with a Hagglund instead. But yeah, lots of snow-there was quads stuck everywhere.

The fishing was good and there's people camped out there like crazy, fifth wheels and pole tents. But of you want access, Jousssard it is.

Maybe I'll see you for shovelling next time?? How was Shaw's?

Never made it up to Slave. Went Friday night to pick up some bait and spoke to a few guys at the Fish'n Hole. The said there is way too much snow for driving on Slave with a pick-up. Skidoo's only.

I can't see me spending $80.00 on gas and just wind up driving back home. So I decided to stay closer to home and fish lake Isle instead. Had a great day out there.

Quite the jibberjabber Cam...

It's too bad how that lake is dying. Those pics are sick. See if you can figure out how to post 'em on here. I'm way too techno illiterate.

Slave is healthy, but snowy. It's all the little lakes north of Slave that are dying from low water, high temperatures last summer, and maybe..early freeze?

RIP little lake. Thanks for the photos Cam.
