Can't beat Rocky's IMHO - service with a smile and seems they are always there if you go to the side door if the front end is not open.

Avoid Cut Rite meats on Hubalta road.I recently made demi glace and they wanted $4.99 a pound for beef bones.

I will endorse Gour Mart in Bowness as that place has been around since I was a kid.If a place stays in business 35+ years they are obviously doing a good job.

I will suggest checking out the butchery program at SAIT.The students have to learn all aspects of butchering for all cuts that include beef/pork/poultry.If they butcher it I highly doubt it is just thrown away so it is most likely sold to the public that know it is sold to the public.Same as the SAIT dental program is available to the public though it is limited to checkups/X-rays/cleanings but it is far cheaper than going to a dental clinic and you can take the X-rays with you if you need to get a filling done by a dentist.
