Haven't tried Northern Harvest yet, but I haven't met a Crown Royal that I really enjoyed. Love the Canadian Whiskey.

Surprisingly, Canadian Club has won a lot of whisky awards.

I was never a CR fan when I drank. but maybe next time I fall off the wagon I'll give this one a go.

Canadian Club has been well regarded worldwide for a long time...well, sort of. I have always liked it. My favourite Canadian which key for the past couple of years has been Forty Creek. At the end of the day though, I favourite has always been highland scotch of several varieties.

Default buy local

I support our alberta whisky as much ad possible. Homewood has some great whisky. And to throw out a plug to a newcomer to the spirit scene. Red cup distilleries just opening up in Vegreville they are making moonshine and Im excited to try their product. I will support local beer and spirit makers when I can.

My preference is Bourbon Whiskey and then Rye Whisky. Not a fan of Scotch at all.
I like my whiskey neat.

I walked past a bottle of Forty Creek at the jug store and tried it because of your post. Tastiest Canadian whisky ever IMO. Sweetening it with pop kills the yummy taste, good call, getting some in for Christmas.

Alberta Premium. Love it or leave it.

Highwood Rye is pretty good too. Smooth as you please, but not many likker stores have it. Don't know why.

Two old bags made of yellow leather.

On another note, I picked up 5 bottles of Northern Harvest and will try one over the Christmas break.

I've tried it, and it's ok. Best in the World? Hardly. Not even close actually. I think someone at Crown got pics of Jim Murray with goats or pre-teen girls maybe, and asked him for a good review. Any Forty Creek Rye on the shelf is better, some by a huge margin (Double Barrel Reserve is light years better). And to imagine that the Northern Harvest is better than about 189 good single malts from Scotland that I could name? That is laughable.

But for $40 or so I guess it's good rye. Add some ice, ginger or coke, and you're good to go.
