Default end of car charger stuck in car

My wife had the end of the phone charger come off inside the outlet in her Escape. Any suggestions for getting it out? Thanks.

Use a o ring pick or scribe. If you can't hook an edge maybe drill a small hole in the piece to be removed and hook the pick into the hole to pull.

Or drive a screw into it and pull the screw out with vice-grips.

Hard to say but if there is a bit of wiggle room maybe a straightened out fish hook and pulled out with pliers? Ie: maybe the barb can catch on to it.

I have a couple of those magnetic parts pick up tools on the extendable antenna. That is what I used to get the part out of the last cigarette lighter.

Nah - what's the fun in that?
Coach your wife through the operation and make sure you video it.

Just leave it in there and buy another one. You will probably wreck it trying to get it out anyways.

If she needs the lighter just tell her it's a good time to quit smoking.

Find a 6 foot long straight crowbar, stic it in the grill approximately in line with the cigarette light receptical, have a large strong friend with a 4 pound sledge hammer pound on the exposed end of the crow bar , this is sure to work, it may take a few tries before you connect with the lighter receptical ,,,

Oh yes, wear eye protection and PPE,,,,,

Can you get at the back of the receptacle and remove it from the dash. This would make it far easier to work on!

Just a thought.

I vote for this. And don't disconnect the battery just pull the proper fuse, might loose all your radio presets along with reset some of the vehicles systems

No worries about loosing vehicle operating systems thru the OBD from disconnecting the battery, at most if there are any DTCs in the memory they may clear/delete/ and reset ,,, the radio preset selection yes possibly ,,,,
