Not to get sidetracked but bacon? Real bacon? Is this an inside joke that I don't understand. (I'm not being sarcastic)
In spirit of this thread I want to get good with streamers and more serious about bull trout.
If the family is up to a bit of hiking golden trout sounds good too. Any suggestions for a family hike for goldens?

Raw bacon is the typical bait of choice for those individuals that choose to not obey laws pertaining to bait bans on bull trout waters, and catch and release for all bull trout in Alberta.

I am looking at getting into to flyshing again after a 30 year break. And catch some shallow water lakers on Cold Lake, and big pike too. I have caught lakers in 2-3 ft of water with spoons many times, so streamers should be deadly. you can literally sight fish them when the conditions are right. Best fight ever, 15lb laker in 3' of water. Now to find a fly setup!

Let us know how that goes Chernobyl, I tried researching that trip a couple years ago but everyone I talked to said there's no fish there anymore. My biggest goal this year is to explore more, love the ftr west of rocky, found some very nice spots last year.

Move the province of BC into Alberta. Getting damned tired driving 7+ Hours for decent trout fishing. Since April 1 been in BC five weeks.
Used to get decent trout fishing 20 minutes from home.
And the ultimate challenge - catch a sucker on a dry fly.
