Default Meekwap Lake

My task to get more insight before doing a trip to Meekwap Lake is slowly chugging along. Phoned Fox Creek Fish and Wildlife today to try and get some more information.

Asked the F&W lady a few general questions. Sled is a must. Flood ice is present. As for fishing reports, maps, and local business who talk to the anglers who fish it she had nothing for me. To be honest I got more info last night after hockey talking to a guy whose dad lives in whitecourt and fishes lake up his way. Apparantly the perch fishing can be good. Probably why I'm interested. . Anyway, just wondering if anyone has any information on the access situation for a guy who would be sledding into that lake. Flood ice? Gonna do a little more looking around for maps of the lake. Does Fox Creek have a local tackle/bait shop that would know some stuff?

Phone back and leave a message for the game warden. He will get back to you. The administration staff may not have first hand knowledge of the lake, probably never been there.

Meekwap Lake has been fishing very slowly. Access is by ATV only. The lake had lots of flood water but most of it has refroze (at least on the top). Getting aroung on a skidoo is no longer a problem. Finding fish is!
