Default Long Lake near Boyle

Thinking of trying Long Lake tomorrow and it's been a few years. A few perch for the kids is the goal - is it still worth the trip?

Thanks

Everything I have heard says it has been slow all winter! Lots of Perch at Hope Lake near Boyle (at least in the summer), but access may be impossible.

Just got back, as unfortunately the previous posts weren't read in time. Very slow indeed. One perch, 4 small pike and that's her! Better than a day at work I guess.

Had alot of action on the Vex, but nothing was too excited to eat. Perch came on yellow/ blk 5 of diamonds with maggots and the pike came on buckshot spoon.

Oh well, different lake next weekend.

Default Long Lake report

I had similar results on Saturday. Biggest perch I saw on the camera was maybe 6". Lots of little ones, and schools of shiners. A few pike caught, but nothing decent. Recent snow & drifting made travel very difficult, so I couldn't get to my favourite spots anyway...
