Default Pigeon Report

Thank you everyone for your tips on Pigeon. That lake is huge, way bigger than a guy realizes. Lots of ice (30-32") and quite a bit of snow, no problem for a 4x4 though. Saw lots of whites near the PP, they weren't biting. Saw a couple of monster pike too, they weren't interested. We moved from there to the middle of lake. First fish wasn't caught until 2 pm but from 4:30 - 6:00 it was non stop walleye action. Nothing special, jig heads and minnows was working fine.

Pigeon definitely is a quality fishery. Luck to those who are close enough to fish it reguarily. Disappointing all the garbage on the ice though. Saw a few spots littered...too bad. We tried to clean up some of the heavier stuff (that wouldn't blow out of the truck) but a lot was frozen in. We also saw quite a few frozen filleted walleyes on the ice which is pretty disappointing too. I never seen any of this on the lakes down south. Young guys out riping around with quads, drinking beer and smoking joints, can't say I saw anything like it since central sask.

Oh well, a good day all in all. A bit cold. Can't wait to try it again in summer when we hopefully get some tags.

Cheers.
