Default Red Lodge Provincial Park

Hey guys/gals,

I'm heading out to Red Lodge Provincial Park next weekend for some camping. Just wondering if there is anything around there worth checking out. I will just be fishing from shore, I have both a spin casting and a fly fishing setup. I was debating Glennifer Res, but I read a post from earlier this month saying the water was significantly lower then normal. Obviously not looking for gps coordinates to a honey hole, just curious about any decent shore fishing spots.

Thanks,
Dylan

Is Red Lodge open? Last time I went by it was closed due to the flood damage.

I sure hope so, I didn't see any notices on the website when I was booking, and almost every site was booked up.

Default Yes!

Yes, Red Lodge is open, I've drive by regularly, twice today and the gates have been open every time for a couple weeks now.
You know about Dickson dam/gleniffer lake being not far from Red Lodge, myself I fish it regularly as its very close to home and lately I've found the north end of the lake and the river side of the dam have been good fishing at times, the trout pond has been inundated with pelicans for 3 years now and has made fishing virtually impossible in it, but right now the mud flats at the south end of the lake are providing decent access to the Red Deer river flowing into the reservoir, the low water makes shore fishing much easier on that lake and although the water is low its only about 3 feet lower than it normally is this time of year, the lake is usually not full until the last week of July.

Cheers!

A couple caught Goldeye and Pike casting small spoons in the Little Red Deer River right at the Red Lodge Campground.

Not wanting to poach ,your title.Won't it be a great move by.AB.Fisheries & parks. If they created a new fishing lake, where all of those OLD gravel pits are.East of the park..They're full of water anyways.
