For those of you out of town, would be good to post your location if you are answering the poll with I don't live in Calgary but would like to see a course in my area.

For those answering from calgary, would be interested to know what nights of the week would be best if there is a prefereance.

I did check the advanced option although I don't know if I can call myself that. I have a few years into it and would love to learn way more as I'm sure I could be doing things differently. Day doesn't matter.

Considering this poll has only been up for 24 hours it shows some pretty stout interest in a course. I will take it on to work with the Sarcee Fish and Game, per the original thread info on this topic, and see if we can get something organised. If that doesn't come together will see if there is another alternative, like the Calgary Shooters Assoc Indoor shooting range in the NE, for a location in Calgary.

A course in Red Deer would be convenient.

Default Calgary reloaders course

I live in Calgary and would be definately in. Have collected pretty much everything I need over the past couple of years, including a number of manuals. Like anything else, it can be a little leary starting something that you have never done before without someone to mentor you or show you the ropes. I think that especially when your are starting something like reloading, you want to have someone who knows what they are doing looking over your shoulder.... consequences could be a little expensive and/or painful.

I'd definately be interested in the course and I know of a few buddies who would love to take it also (schedules permitting).

Do you have a rough cost guesstimate in mind? I think that would be the deciding factor for me.

Default Aheia

AHEIA ran one in Edmonton a couple years ago. Should see if they would put one on in Calgary as well. I heard that it was very basic, tho. They send out a monthly calendar and I dont think there was a reloading course for Feb.

For you guys in Edmonton you are lucky to have P&D Enterprises. They offer a basic reloading course, I think they run about once a month. You may want to contact them.

For the Calgary guys, I have contacted the President of the Sarcee Fish and Game, with the idea of using their office as a venue. I have left two messages and sent two emails that I know were received. Zero response over a three week period so I would say they aren't interested. I have talked to a couple of the larger gun stores, they aren't interested due to fears over liability.

As far as the question of cost, I was thinking the price of a membership to the the Fish and Game if they hosted it. There is really no other costs besides locating a venue to get together.

My next step is to talk to the Bearspaw community association and some other spots near there and see if there is somewhere in the area we could use.

Default AHEIA in Calgary

I am surprised Sarcee F & G hasn't responded. Maybe not enough members to do all the work. AHEIA main area is Calgary. Give Bob a call at Phone (403) 252-8474 and talk to him about it.
