Had a chance to look at one the other day. Nice, handy little piece, but the stock is too short, at least for a bigger guy like me. I like my eye a little further away, from the scope. Conclusion was that it would make a good youth, or ladies gun.

I have a Ruger Hawkeye in LH 25-06,came with walnut stock but changed it out for synthetic and polished the trigger up some,I will tell you this thing was the most stubborn gun I have ever owned,it just would not shoot to my liking, tried numerous powders, primers lead, etc and it would not shoot under 1.5" ....until I hit the magic formula and man ,it was worth the wait, its shooting bug holes off bags at 100 yrds!

Like Grizz mentioned ,its LOP is short but its perfect for my son and ,well, I don't mind it for some long range dog action either

I have one in 7mm I love the lc6 trigger or what ever they call it. Great improvement from the old m77. I find it very nice for a stock trigger without any work.

Gun is accurrate too, 2 shots at 1/2" the third at 3/4" topped with a Burris 4.5-14 Fullfield II

My first big game hunting rifle was a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .270 Winchester (wood/blued), and it has been great to me. It is quite accurate and seems to have strong build quality. Some more experienced folks sometimes tell me that the barrel is too short at 22" or 24", but I've done fine shooting past 200 yards.
