yes thats correct , say scope has only 50 moa adjustment in it internally and your zeroed 5 moa from bottom or you have 45 moa left to go up/play with , slap a 20 moa base ........i mean allready have on before hand , now in theory you should have 65 moa elavation to send your rounds down to while not holding over. say 65 moa gets your particular cartridge to 1600 yards and you wanna hit a mile accuratley and consistently youll have to use holdover....or hopefully your scope has other reticle lines/bdc you can home in on...... or youll have to put a 30 /40 moa scope base underneath your scope,or change out a scope that has a higher internal adjustments.
problem with 30/40 moa scope bases is you have to have a far zero, lowest setting might be 400 yards (as such with my 338 with a 30 moa base and its handload),its ok with this rifle for me cause its meant to "go the distance " , otherwise if i want to know how to hit a 100-300 with it bang on ill have to practise "hold under " i guess ?......LOL
clear as mud ?????
