Help with Garmin for ClearVü

Hi Garmin owners, I just got my first sonar and cannot seem to get the Clearvü imaging to show while ice fishing. Is this option not available with an ice transducer? If not, is there a way to use the GT54 transducer for ice fishing??

Your imaging won't be available with your ice transducer. As for your other transducer Side imaging only works when your moving at a steadier speed in a boat.

Anything under 10mph I have found works best. Trolling 0.7mph with live bait rigs up to 10mph searching structure, I find I get my best results with my Garmin unit during the summer. Even drifting I have found it works reasonable well to.

You would be much better off using the ice transducer for the unit, and use the flasher mode on the display. The sonar cone is pretty small if you use the gt54 transducer.

Use the traditional screen if you don't prefer the flasher mode.

Thanks all. Too bad the ClearVü isn’t an option for ice fishing! Guess I will need to consider Livescope in the future

I use livescope. If you can afford, definitely worth it!

You can use your GT54 in Flasher mode for ice fishing.
