Question Mossberg Rifle

A friend of mine just picked up a new Mossberg 4X4 in 270 cal dirt cheap. I know that the Mossberg ATR is also cheap but more expensive than the 4X4. Does anybody know what the difference is between them? I don't plan on buying one but was just curious.

ATR is cheaper than the 4x4.

They're the same action, ATR has a blind mag, 4x4 has a detachable.

ATR only available in synthetic stock(fake wood synthetic available), blued steel.

4x4 in synthetic, walnut or laminate, with a stainless looking coating available.

Thats about it, 4x4 is just a slightly fancier version of the ATR.

Thanks. A friend picked up a 4X4 270 at WSS for only $329 new but 09 model. We were wondering how they compared since Milarm has the ATR at $430
