Default Long lake report

Went to long yesterday. Caught a few perch lost a few near the top, all in all a great day. Caught a walleye but no tags for us. Perch were 8 to 10" Walleye was in the class B range. Perch fishing rating was fair. Got on at the south boat launch drove south. Fair road out there. All the way to the end of the lake. No flood water where we were. Snow has melted and blowen off and melted quite a bit at that end. Tried going north and found flood water about half way, Lots more snow that direction. Ice and packed snow about a foot then a soft water spot a few inches then another foot of ice. Very soft bite could not feel them half the time. Did have a few big ones bite but no luck getting them up, Dam barbless hooks. Found them in 14 to 16 fow, right on the bottom. Fairly good access for a 4 X 4. Dont go to the north end. Caught 15 keepers between two of us and lost about 8 gooders. I recomend going there in the next week. If all went right we could have had our two limits, but would have taken the whole day with no exploreing. We should have stuck it out in our first spot. Be carfull there tho as you may still find flood water off the trail.
