"Pine Coulee Reservoir
Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 3 (no size limit); Bait allowed. May 15 to Nov. 30 - open only between sunrise and sunset each day.
Dec. 1 to Mar. 31 - open 24 hours a day.
Apr. 1 to May 14 – CLOSED"

"Fishing with bait in lakes is allowed at lakes without Bait Bans under “Lake and Stream Listings”, or at general stocked trout waters listed here.

Fishing with Bait Fish (dead) is NOT allowed in ES1 except at the following waters:

•Paine (Mami) Lake

•Lees Lake
•Ghost Reservoir
•Pine Coulee Reservoir"

Bait ban is bait ban, bait fish ban is bait fish ban, BUT PCR doesn't seem to have any of them imposed. Strange thing for them to say.

Did the game warden say you would get a ticket?

What was their name?

No doubt.

Probably one of the most pooly worded parts of the reg's.

The fact you can use fish as bait under a bait fish ban is nonsensical.

Check the regs before you ask.

I copied words from regs in the 2nd post above and as I read it the not only bait is OK, but bait fish is fine too on PCR. Am I wrong?

Why is this being argued. Just go to PCR, throw a smelt on a jig and have a great day doing it.

Default New vs old

Up to a year or 2 ago smelts was all you could use on the fish side of bait. Now you can use monnows, smelts or whatever other fish you want to use. It is no longer shut down for bait like it used to be. read the current regs.

Oh boy.

The western silvery minnow is the only minnow species that falls outside the bait fish ban.

Goldfish and carp are the only other cyprinids that fall outside the bait fish ban.

Unless of course you obtain them from a pet store and/or they have a tropical origin.

May be my English is failing me again, but for the THIRD time, any minnow is fine - there is no bait fish ban on PCR right now:
"Fishing with Bait Fish (dead) is NOT allowed in ES1 except at the following waters:
•Paine (Mami) Lake
•Lees Lake
•Ghost Reservoir
•Pine Coulee Reservoir"

Ak-71,

When I am responding to you, I will quote you like above.

Sorry for the confusion.
