Default 358 norma

The hammer of Thor!! Flat shooting and hard hitting. I believe it edges out the .300 wm and the 338 wm. Hard to beat! I prefer the 225 grain loads even though the gun is typically known for 250 gr loads. They just seemed to shoot a bit better. IMR 4350 was ways my "go-to" powder

Had the opportunity to play with one once where the guy used Trailboss powder and light pistol bullets to make inexpensive plinking rounds.

Its a fantastic cartridge .

For plinking /practice try loading pistol bullets and trail boss powder.

I have had several 35 caliber rifles and scratch me head why when I sell one .

It is a very much overlooked . The Norma is capable of anything it comes up against .

These are the 35s I have had over the years 358 win ,35 Whelen ,350 mag ,358 norma ,and 358STA. I only have the 350 mag in a Ruger m-77 at present .

What loads are you shooting out of your 350? I just got one and wondering what to try first.

I'm using 225 accubond nosler . They need to be seated to the start of the ogive to fit in the mag box . I don't think they will work in a Remington mag box . If I remember I think I am using reloader 7

I use Accubond 225's in my 35 Whelen ai and had a similar issue with seating depth..
I cut the tips off flush with the jacket (Dremel) and find no difference in POI to 300 yards when seated out to magazine length. I haven't shot them at longer distances but I wouldn't expect much change until beyond 400 yds. Not an issue with a .35

I shoot 225gr Sierra SBT with IMR 4350. Great combo in my 358 Norma. I tried the 225gr partitions but they didn't shoot as well.

I used one a lot for about a decade, sold it 3-4 years ago.

For 250 grainers it's easy. Just keep adding any of the 4350s until the chronograph reads 2800 ft./s. That should be in the 74 grain range.

I didn't use the 250s for long though as after a couple years I went to the 225 TSX. It shot much flatter and penetrated just as well. For it I used Ramshot Big Game at just over 2900 fps.

I also used the 158 grain jacketed hollow points at about 1400 ft./s as just a great big 22 Long rifle for chicken in the bush. Somehow a 225 grainer at 2900 ft./s seems excessive on a grouse. . For that I used Unique.

I should still have my hand loading records. Send me a PM with your cell number and I will text you my records. If you blow your ass up of course it's your fault.
