Default Road from Wabasca to Trout lake?

Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me if there is a road going from Wabasca lake (north end) to Trout lake (up to Graham)?
I picked up the new Backroads Mapbook and it looks like there is. Has anyone been on it and what are the conditions? May-be its just a winter road.
Thanks

If you want to go to Trout , you'll have to go thru Red Earth..

Thanks for all the help,
I just thought if possable I would fish Graham/Vandersteen (using the quad) for a few days and than shoot over to Wabasca for a couple days. I don't mind gravel roads. Anywho I'll try to PM bbell.

The only way through to Trout lake from Wabasca in June would be by plane or maybe a hoover craft. The effort it would take to even get a quad through would be ridiculous. Take the high grade road (when its not raining) through Red Earth and save yourself a nightmare.

Red Earth can be a nightmare to, ever seen those shirts "I survived highway 88" Better than pavement in the winter, a mechanics dream in the summer, just ask my old chevy.

I was hoping to fish Vandersteen for 3-5 days and than go to Wabasca via; (oil road with truck, quad and boat),
I've been going to Vandersteen every year in June, but they changed the regs this year, its closed for walleye. I'll still go to Vandersteen for the annual trip,I'll just c&r. No problem for us we go for the sport anyway. So after that I thought I would shoot over to Wabsaca so I could have at least one shore lunch.
But....if its not going to be an easy road, I'll just drive back to Slave and go up from there.
Anyway.... I just thought I'd check with you guys before I made the trip.
Good to know.
Thanks
Dave

If you are looking at June 1st your only option will be the high grade gravel road from Red Earth Creek. In the winter there are usually a couple other access routes opened up by the oil/gas companies or forestry.

Default Wabby road

Say ER, If your not going till ju 1, leave it with me and I'll find out from friends who live and work in the area. Depending on the spring we have will determine how wet it might be..I sent out the mocassin telegraph tonite but have not heard back, then again if you're not going till then , we've got lots of time..

Default Trout lake

I've worked in that area numerous times and haven't seen a way to get that far north from wabasca. If I was you i'd take redwater way and avoid "trout" lake and head for the real trout lake up there. Peerless Lake I mean. The lakers should still be on the surface and they'll be hungry!!! Bring a downrigger just in case.
