Default $98 toy

Have seen at Costco a helicopter toy with a camera. Having one like that and flying to see where the game is, is it legal? Did not stop to check what the range is but thought crossed my mind.

Default Aircraft

3. hunt any wildlife with or from an aircraft, or communicate, for the purpose of hunting, the signs or whereabouts of wildlife seen during a flight on an aircraft.

http://www.albertaregulations.ca/hun...s/genregs.html

So i think they would consider that an aircraft so it probably wouldnt be legal. Although that is a good idea, ive never thought of it. I have thought of recording calls and using speakers and stuff for big game but unfortunety thats also illegal.

Drones are getting cheaper and cheaper. I don't think it would be considered an aircraft and I imagine the regs will be have to be updated as this technology becomes more mainstream.

I doubt the Costco ones are good enough to be effective though. Probably loud and the range would be pretty limited.

Sounds like a tool for peeping Toms and lazy hunters. I'd never use one for hunting......

IMHO it kinda takes the hunting out of hunting,
but each to their own
live and let live

Might be good for scouting some areas or just for fun to see the terrain around you

Could be considered harassing wildlife too. But I bet for $98 it wouldnt work too much past the range of your eye sight anyways.

The joke there was insinuating that I might still have a use for one, but perhaps it was too subtle

There should be allowances for some types of hunting within a short period from departing an aircraft, specifically if you parachute down in the dark with night vision goggles. You have to admit that would be pretty cool, plus dangerous enough that not everyone would do it.

Sounds awesome, if we can figure out a way to field dress remotely we don't even have to leave the vehicle.
